How To Increase Credibility With A Better Press Page

How To Increase Credibility With A Better Press Page

This week on the blog, we’re sharing ways to increase your brand credibility with a stronger website press page. We’ve waxed poetic on the importance of landing press to book your dream client, but here’s why your press page matters just as much. If your competition has a wedding PR press page that’s being updated regularly, then it’s no wonder why they’re getting the booking and you’re not.

A Website Press Page Implies Credibility

The first thing you want a potential client to think when they visit your website is “Wow, I love their style!" The second thing is “This vendor is legit and I want to give them my money.” Right?! Your brides and potential customers are doing their research. You want to give them all the confidence that you’ll be able to execute the wedding of their dreams. A wedding PR press page helps by building you up as a credible and highly sought-after vendor.

Your press page doesn’t have to be overwhelming - Stick to the most impressive and recent publications. Five to 10 publications is enough. You also don’t need to include the same publication more than once! We recommend rotating out press features as you land new ones, so your press page always feels up to date. We’re sharing why recent press is important next!

A Website Press Page Implies Credibility

Recent Press Is Better Press

Not only do you want to tell potential clients that you’ve been published, you want to tell them that you’re published on a consistent basis. We see it all the time with our wedding PR coaching clients - A wedding vendor will have a press page on their site, but the most recent feature links to an article from 2015. Yikes! Recent press is better press - The more timely your wedding press features, the more current you’ll feel to potential clients.

You should aim to land at least a few meaningful press features every year. As soon as a feature is live, add it to your website! If you’re someone who likes sticking to a schedule, make a note to update your press page at the end of every month. We shared more on what to do after landing a press feature in this past blog post.

How To Format Your Press Page

How To Format Your Press Page

Now that we’ve (hopefully!) convinced you to add a press page to your website, here are our tips on how to format your press on your site. We always recommend that you add your most impressive wedding publication logos to your home page in an “as seen in” format. You’ll immediately build credibility as soon as a potential client lands on your website.

Next, you should have a page either linked in your main navigation or in your footer that houses all of your recent press features. The design can depend on the overall style of your website! If you have a more simple website aesthetic, try just added logos that link to the press features themselves. Make sure logos are the same size and look professional when laid out together. A messy press page will overwhelm your potential clients! If you want to share a backstory behind each feature, add a small paragraph and photos from the real wedding itself for each feature.

Lastly, you can consider adding press features to your blog! If you share regular blog content (which you should!), you can start sharing full blog posts that highlight recent press features your company has landed. When a potential client goes to see more of your work, they’ll also see where and how often you’re published!
