How To Use Instagram Reels For Your Wedding Business
Since the rise of TikTok and the launch of Instagram Reels, individuals and business owners are engaging with their audiences in a new way on social media. It’s faster, more personal, less perfect, and more interactive. Learning how to use a new social media feature can be overwhelming, but we’re here to help! We’re sharing a few tips and ideas on how to use Instagram Reels for your business - And, no - You don’t have to dance.
Tip #1: Start paying attention to trending sounds and video formats.
Yes, you’ll have to start watching Reels in your free time! You don’t need to invest a ton of time into learning trends - This time shouldn’t take away from your organic engagement and interacting with your audience every day. Just start spending 5-10 minutes per day on the platform and you’ll quickly catch on to what’s trending.
Get in the habit of asking yourself every time you see a video you enjoy - “Could I make this make sense for my business?” For example, if there’s a video you see on 5 interior design tips, could you make a similar video on 5 wedding trends? If the answer is yes, write it down! You’ll start to build out a list of Reel ideas that you can film all at once.
Tip #2: Create a list of video categories you feel you can create easily.
We’d recommend coming up with 2-3 different types of Reels you can film and create easily in just a few minutes. Maybe that’s you talking to camera and offering a few tips to your audience in your industry. Or, maybe that’s a few behind-the-scenes clips from your latest wedding or styled shoot. Keep reading for a few of our ideas to get your wheels turning!
Tip #3: Batch your content.
We’ve talked about batching your work before in our work productivity tips, but this strategy works well for Reels, too! Once you have a handful of video ideas written down, set aside 30 minutes on a day when you’re already in your most confident outfit, and bust them out! We’d even recommend blocking off this time on your calendar so you’re committed and are more likely to follow through. In just 30 minutes per week, you can film enough content to post 1 reel per day for the rest of the week. Yes, please!
Tip #4: Don’t worry about perfection.
While your Instagram feed is a great place for your most beautiful professional images and perfectly curated captions, Reels is more about reflecting reality. This is your chance to share who you really are with your audience, and make them feel more connected to you as a business owner. Don’t worry about perfection - Just push content out and see what sticks! Your audience will be more engaged and you’ll be able to spend less time creating content and more time focusing on your business.
